The Center for Leadership is a hub for collaboration, connection, and growth. By becoming an affiliate, your program joins a network of Âé¶¹Ô­´´ units committed to empowering students through leadership development. Together, we can expand access, share resources, and create a stronger leadership culture across campus.


Affiliate Benefits

As a CFL Affiliate, your program will receive:

  • Student Opportunities & Recognition – Your students gain access to professional leadership coaching, eligibility for the ÌýNewton Leadership Fellowship, opportunities for leadership awards, and more.
  • Shared Tools & Resources – Tap into curated leadership development tools Curricular models, data insights, and best practices to strengthen leadership outcomes tailored to your program’s needs.
  • Workshops & Summits – Gain access to dynamic professional development opportunities for you and your students. Participate in thought-provoking workshops, attend inspiring Leadership Summits, and receive free tickets to our leadership speaker series.
  • Microgrant Program – Apply annually for up to $500 in grant funding to support leadership-focused initiatives.
  • Visibility & Community – Gain campus-wide exposure and connect with a growing network of leadership educators and changemakers.
  • Professional Development via A-Lab (Affiliate-Lab) – A unique professional learning experience that equips affiliate directors with advanced skills, funding, and peer collaboration to elevate leadership education within their unit.

Affiliate Commitments

Affiliates agree to:

  • Designate a Primary Liaison – Provide one consistent point of contact to maintain regular communication with the CFL team.
  • Promote CFL Opportunities – Share leadership development programs, events, and resources within your unit, and actively nominate students for opportunities such as professional leadership coaching, the Newton Leadership Fellows, and the Graduating Leaders of the Year award.
  • Participate in the Fall Leadership Summit – Connect with peers, exchange best practices, and contribute to shaping Âé¶¹Ô­´´â€™s leadership community.
  • Embed Leadership Development – Integrate and elevate leadership principles and skill-building into your student programming.
  • Prioritize Student Well-Being and Access – Ensure your programming is inclusive, equitable, and supportive of all students, while emphasizing well-being.

Eligibility

Affiliate status is open to official Âé¶¹Ô­´´ entities (schools, departments, programs, centers, or student organizations) that serve a defined cohort of students in some format—such as student staff, a student board, a recurring class, a formal program application, or another structured group experience.

As a Partner, you’ll still be part of Âé¶¹Ô­´´â€™s vibrant leadership community—collaborating on events, sharing resources, and helping to foster leadership development across campus. We’d love to explore how we can work together through this pathway.
