All lab members working with chemicals must complete the required Chemical Safety and Hazardous Waste Generator Training to ensure a safe working environment. The training consists of two parts: an online module and in-person training. The online module is available on the SciShield Database and must be completed by each lab member before engaging in any chemical-related work. After completing the online module, lab members must also undergo in-person training, which should be conducted by the Principal Investigator (PI), Group Compliance Liaison (GCL), or a qualified graduate student. This in-person session covers lab-specific safety protocols, including proper chemical handling, storage, and emergency procedures. Online refresher training is required annually.Â
For assistance with accessing the online module or conducting in-person training, please contact chemsafety@colorado.edu.
